Halu rules DM-Bigwig with Shock and rockets, wins 30:7

After one brief wobble, Halu reclaimed the lead and turned DM-Bigwig into a four-minute clinic in precise destruction.

DM-Bigwig produced a Deathmatch whose final margin looked decisive, although the opening minute still managed to scramble the order. Halu opened the scoring after just 10 seconds, dropping Rockjock with the Flak Cannon; freedie00 answered five seconds later, and Comboholic soon pushed into the lead. That advantage lasted only briefly. Once Halu returned to first place, he blended the Flak Cannon, Rocket Launcher and Shock arsenal so effectively that the fight for the lead quickly became a fight among everyone else for second place. The match lasted 273 seconds, and the target of 30 points arrived exactly on the final recorded kill.

First minute: the lead was still up for grabs

Halu struck first: at 0:10 he sent Rockjock back to respawn with the Flak Cannon for the authoritative first blood. freedie00 joined in with a rocket against Rockjock, and in the 19th second Halu caught freedie00 with a Shock Combo. Then Comboholic arrived. Two Flak kills and an Enforcer hit on Halu put Comboholic on 3 points in the 33rd second while Halu remained on 2. That sequence produced one of the match's two recorded lead changes.

Four seconds later Halu returned the kill on Comboholic, then added freedie00 in the 39th second to complete a Double Kill and move to 4. From that moment he never gave up first place. In the 52nd second he eliminated freedie00 and Rockjock with two rockets at the same timestamp, another Double Kill that showed the early balance was breaking apart. The first minute delivered 12 kills, and Halu closed it already sitting on seven points.

Shock, rockets and the spree that opened the gap

Just after the one-minute mark, Halu continued with the Shock Rifle against freedie00, but freedie00 answered one second later with the Bio Rifle. It formed part of the match's revenge-heavy rhythm, with Halu finishing on seven immediate revenge kills overall, although this time the opponent had the last word. A quieter stretch followed: after freedie00's kill in the 95th second came the longest pause of the match, 16 seconds without a frag. Halu ended it exactly at 111 seconds with a Flak Cannon kill on freedie00.

That kill also launched the longest spree of the evening. From 111 to 155 seconds Halu collected seven kills without dying, hitting freedie00, Comboholic, Telefrag and Rockjock while rotating between the Flak Cannon, Rocket Launcher and Sniper Rifle. His score climbed from 10 to 17. Only Telefrag stopped the run in the 155th second with the Shock Rifle. It was not a comeback, but it was a sharp reminder that even a runaway leader could still be halted.

Fourth minute: Bigwig turns into a grinder

From the 180-second mark the pace jumped sharply. The fourth minute produced 17 kills, the busiest of the five minute-by-minute segments. Halu reached 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 during that stretch, while freedie00, Comboholic, Rockjock and Telefrag traded hits and suicides started to hurt the standings. Rockjock had already lost a point to his own rocket and repeated the mistake in the 191st second; freedie00 then cut his score with a Bio Rifle suicide in the 226th.

The clearest technical highlight came in the 221st second. Halu hit Comboholic with a Shock Combo from 37.9 meters, the longest kill of the entire match. At the same timestamp Telefrag dropped freedie00 with the Link Gun. In this phase DM-Bigwig offered no safe corner: close Flak and Link fights mixed with mid-range rockets and Shock attacks. Halu still emerged from the chaos with a lead no realistic pursuer could threaten.

Finish: the last points without a stumble

After Halu reached 25, Rockjock caught him with the Stinger in the 225th second and freedie00 added more points against Rockjock, but the top of the table was already settled. Halu respawned and added a Shock Combo on Comboholic, a Link Gun kill on Rockjock and a Bio Rifle frag in the 258th second. Rockjock also found late momentum: he killed Halu in the 265th second and Comboholic one second later, recording his own Double Kill and moving to a final score of six.

Halu needed only one more frag. He had reached 29 in the 262nd second after hitting Telefrag with the Shock Rifle; Rockjock stopped him once more, but in the 273rd second Halu found Comboholic. A Shock Combo from 19.6 meters ended the match exactly at the target of 30 points. The final 30:7:7:6:4 looks one-sided, yet the route there still contained an early lead swing, five Double Kills across the match and an exceptionally dense fourth minute.

Halu won with 30 points, while freedie00 and Comboholic finished level on seven, Rockjock on six and Telefrag on four. The gap was not created by one accidental burst of form but by sustained control of the pace: Halu had the longest average life at 34 seconds, collected 30 kills against seven deaths and managed seven immediate revenge kills. He was not dependent on one weapon either. Eight kills came from the Rocket Launcher, six from Shock Combos, with more added through the Flak Cannon, Sniper Rifle, Shock Rifle, Bio Rifle, Stinger and Link Gun. DM-Bigwig therefore produced a winner who, after a brief opening wobble, controlled almost every later phase of the match.
