Anub1ss rules Campgrounds with a brutal 23-kill spree
A brief fight for the lead turned into a long Anub1ss run that Nanoblack finally stopped after 664 seconds without a death.
DM-Campgrounds2K8 opened with an odd solo incident: after just one second Jumpboots dropped to minus one and then left the match. The authoritative first blood arrived at 13 seconds, when Anub1ss hit Nanoblack with the Flak Cannon from only 2.3 meters. It did not produce an immediate escape. hemeroid answered with two Rocket Launcher kills, first on Nanoblack and then on Jano, taking a 2:1 lead after 28 seconds. The first minute delivered seven regular kills and made it clear that the opening would not belong to one player. Anub1ss tied the lead at 34 seconds and, at 45, used the Impact Hammer to claim his third point. From that moment, a tight Deathmatch started to turn into a much more one-sided story.
Two lead changes and the first warning
The order shifted quickly at the start. After Anub1ss drew first blood, hemeroid used the Rocket Launcher to reach 2:1 and became the only player who briefly pushed the eventual winner out of first place. At 34 seconds Anub1ss removed hemeroid with a rocket to make it 2:2. Two seconds later Nanoblack killed Anub1ss with the Link Gun, but he did not take the lead; the top of the table remained open.
Jano scored at 44 seconds with the Shock Rifle against hemeroid, yet one second later Anub1ss caught him with the Impact Hammer from 2.3 meters and moved to three points. That was the second and final lead change. The key detail is that just before this kill Anub1ss had died for the last time in a very long stretch: Nanoblack had taken him down at 36 seconds. At 45 seconds the spree that would decide the match began.
The Sniper Rifle opens the gap
Between 103 and 111 seconds came the first clear display of control. Anub1ss used the Sniper Rifle on Nanoblack from 34.6 meters, added hemeroid from 45.1 meters three seconds later for a Double Kill, then hit Jano at 111. His score rose to six while the nearest rivals were on two. hemeroid and Jano still traded rocket kills, and Nanoblack kept collecting points with the Link Gun, but nobody could build sustained pressure on the leader.
After Jano's kill at 147 seconds, the match entered its longest quiet spell: 58 seconds without a regular kill. Nanoblack ended it at 205 with a Link Gun kill on hemeroid. A phase followed in which Jano gradually climbed to seven points with rockets and Nanoblack stayed in touch, but Anub1ss did not die. When he returned to the feed at 293 seconds with a Flak Cannon kill on Jano, he had seven points and the foundations of his long spree were already solid.
From ten points to an unreachable cushion
From 346 seconds onward, Anub1ss began stacking points at short, steady intervals. A Shock Combo on hemeroid, a Flak Cannon kill on Nanoblack, a rocket on Jano and further hits pushed him to 13 by 432 seconds. The pursuers were still fighting each other: Jano had eight, Nanoblack six, and hemeroid fell from four to three after a Bio Rifle suicide at 439. That suited the leader perfectly, because every duel among the chasers bought him time and space.
Then came the harshest run against Jano. Anub1ss hit him at 471, 480 and 491 seconds; the last was a Sniper Rifle headshot from 50.6 meters, the longest kill of the entire match. By 611 seconds Anub1ss had reached 22 and still had not died. His average life lasted 190 seconds, compared with Jano's 33, hemeroid's 36 and Nanoblack's 42. The difference was not only accuracy, but the ability to stay alive and preserve control between engagements.
Nanoblack stops the spree, Shock powers the finish
Anub1ss reached 25 points at 675 seconds, and his streak from 45 seconds had grown to 23 kills without a death. Nanoblack finally ended it at 709 with the Link Gun. It was symbolic: Nanoblack was the only player to kill Anub1ss at all in this match, and he did it three times. Twenty-six seconds later he added another death with the Shock Rifle. Those shots could no longer change the outcome because the gap was simply too large.
The finish belonged to the Shock arsenal. Anub1ss killed Jano with the Stinger at 730, removed him again with a Shock Combo at 746, then dropped Nanoblack with the Shock Rifle two seconds later. At 749 he hit hemeroid with the same weapon to complete a Multi Kill and reach 29. The final point arrived at 760 seconds, when hemeroid fell to a 37.4-meter Shock Rifle shot. The final 30:12:11:7 line showed how late the brief interruption had come.

When the final Shock Rifle hit ended the match at 760 seconds, the scoreboard merely confirmed what the previous minutes had shown. Anub1ss won 30:12 over Nanoblack, Jano finished on 11 and hemeroid on seven after one suicide. The decisive difference was the 23-kill run without a death, which transformed a tight opening into a lead nobody could realistically erase. Nanoblack played the unusual role of the champion's brake — all three deaths of the winner belonged to him — but those interruptions came too rarely. Campgrounds therefore produced a record in which Sniper Rifle precision, weapon variety and long survival combined into a clear victory.
