Anub1ss Rules DM-Q3ProTourney4-1on1 with Rocket Fire
Jano led early and hemeroid pushed back, but Anub1ss turned the match into his own rhythm after the second minute.
DM-Q3ProTourney4-1on1 started without a long warm-up. At 24 seconds Jumpboots opened the scoring, dropping Rikoset with the Stinger for the authoritative first blood. Twelve seconds later Stvanec joined in with a rocket against hemeroid, only to lose that point four seconds later with a Stinger suicide. Anub1ss and Jano then entered the scoring race. The first minute stayed crowded at the top, with Jumpboots, Jano and eventually Anub1ss all in contention. The frag limit was 30, the match lasted 714 seconds, and the lead changed hands twice before the winner took control for good.
Jano grabs the lead, Anub1ss starts to build
Jano did most of his early damage with the Stinger. He hit hemeroid at 52 seconds, Anub1ss at 76, and two seconds later finished hemeroid again for a Double Kill, moving to three points while Anub1ss had one and Jumpboots two. At 93 seconds he removed Jumpboots and led 4:2. It was the first real breakaway at the top and the first meaningful lead change recorded in the match.
Anub1ss was already assembling his response. A Link Gun kill cut into Jano's advantage, Bio Rifle answered hemeroid, and at 140 seconds Anub1ss tied Jano at 4:4. Twelve seconds later he hit hemeroid with the Bio Rifle and moved into sole possession of first place at 5:4. He never gave the lead back. The important detail was variety: Rocket Launcher, Impact Hammer, Link Gun, Stinger and Bio Rifle had all contributed before the match was even firmly under his control.
Rocket pressure and a seven-kill spree
Between 192 and 296 seconds Anub1ss climbed from seven to twelve points while adding Shock Rifle, Shock Combo and Rocket Launcher to the mix. At 195 seconds he chained two frags into a Double Kill, and after another rocket on hemeroid at 278 seconds the score had stretched to 11:5. hemeroid did stop him with the Stinger at 296 seconds, but Anub1ss answered in that same second with the Bio Rifle. That exchange summed up the middle phase: opponents could interrupt him, but often only briefly.
From 296 seconds the longest spree of the match began. Anub1ss eliminated hemeroid, hit him again with the Sniper Rifle at 327, sniped Jano sixteen seconds later, then added two rocket kills on hemeroid. After the match's longest quiet spell, 41 seconds following time 365, he resumed with Sniper Rifle kills on hemeroid and Jano. That was the longest kill of the entire match, a remarkable distance for the weapon. His average kill distance was 14.9 meters, the second highest among the regular scorers.
The ninth minute became the busiest of the match with eight kills. Anub1ss scored with Shock Rifle on Jano and Shock Combo on Jumpboots, while hemeroid kept answering with rockets and earned a Double Kill against Anub1ss at 527 seconds. Ten seconds later Jumpboots produced the match's only headshot, a Sniper Rifle shot on Jano. hemeroid pulled his score to 14 while Anub1ss stood on 22, but the leader answered at 552 seconds with a sniper kill on hemeroid and stopped the chase from becoming a real comeback.
No panic at the finish: from 23 to the limit
The final third tested whether Anub1ss would reopen the door. He did not. After 552 seconds he sniped hemeroid and Jumpboots, then used Shock Combo and Shock Rifle to hit Jano twice. Jumpboots did catch Anub1ss with the Enforcer at 574 seconds and later added Flak Cannon kills, but the gap at the top never became seriously threatened.
