Match history — match detail
biggest overkill: Biosludge (7900 dmg) · airborne kills: 37 · gutsiest kill: hemeroid (1 HP)
Match verdict: Jano won 30–23 because his reply to losing the lead at 545 seconds was swift and sustained through the next hundred seconds. Sixteen Rocket Launcher kills and only two self-inflicted deaths gave him an efficiency edge; hemeroid’s five-kill spree was spectacular but not enough to hold first place.

Jano Reclaims the Lead and Reaches Thirty on Ion Map
The Bio Rifle threatened a takeover, but Jano found the final answer.
A 30–23 score can look comfortable when it is separated from the noise that produced it. This Deathmatch on DM-1on1-Ion, played on October 30, 2026, lasted 735 seconds, featured nine competitors and recorded 106 deaths including self-inflicted ones. The lead changed three times. Jano eventually reached the target of thirty, yet hemeroid made the finishing stretch anything but routine by taking the lead after more than nine minutes of fighting. Rockets shaped much of the evening, but the Bio Rifle, the Flak Cannon and several disruptive challengers deserve their share of the story. The match was not simply one player cruising to a number.
First blood belonged to somebody else
Biosludge claimed first blood just seven seconds after the start. Deckrat fell to the Ultra Instagib Rifle at a distance of only 3.6 metres. Jano entered the scoring column at 30 seconds by eliminating Biosludge with the Flak Cannon, but Deckrat answered with a Link Gun kill two seconds later. The opening minute became a noisy exchange: Biosludge repeatedly struck Deckrat, while Jano kept catching Biosludge. By 56 seconds, both Jano and Biosludge stood on four points, with two kills entered at that same timestamp.
Deckrat was far more than a background name. He took down hemeroid at 61 seconds and caught Jano at 68, 91, 119 and 131 seconds. Jano nevertheless found points against Deckrat and Biosludge and was already on eight by 129 seconds. hemeroid began more cautiously: his first point came against Jano at 44 seconds, while his second arrived only at 96. Each of the first two minutes produced ten kills. Even this early, the pattern was obvious: a successful exchange offered no promise of a quiet next encounter.
Rockets build a lead with no guarantees
During the third and fourth minutes, Jano turned repeatedly to the Rocket Launcher. At 185 seconds he removed hemeroid, and three seconds later Deckrat, completing a Double Kill. His 10–5 advantage over hemeroid soon became 12–6 when he struck Biosludge from 26.6 metres. At 222 seconds Jano reached fourteen, only to eliminate himself with a rocket one second later and drop to thirteen. Deckrat and hemeroid also lost points to their own rockets in this section. The explosive weapon was both a route to dominance and a very expensive way to make a mistake.
The fourth minute, spanning seconds 180 through 239, was the busiest: eleven kills in sixty seconds. Then Naboj joined the scoring, defeating Biosludge at 250 seconds and Jano at 253 to complete a Double Kill. hemeroid continued shrinking the gap. At 338 seconds, his Rocket Launcher hit Naboj and Chrestus in a Double Kill, taking him to fourteen points while Jano sat on fifteen. The standings remained unsettled despite Jano generally collecting eliminations at a faster rate. Nobody with a score still had the luxury of ignoring the rest of the field.
Five kills turn the standings upside down
By the middle of the match, hemeroid was using the Bio Rifle to erode the lead. Jano reached twenty with a Rocket Launcher kill against Telefrag at 451 seconds; hemeroid reached seventeen by defeating Telefrag at 457. That second marks the beginning of the longest spree in the match: five kills from 457 to 552 seconds. It included the elimination of mike1234 at 517 and repeated strikes on Jano at 504, 529 and 545. The score became 20–20 at 529 seconds. Just sixteen seconds later, hemeroid was finally in front, 21–20.
There was a curious pause around the comeback. After Telefrag killed Jano at 466 seconds, the computed gap to hemeroid’s next opposing kill at 504 measured 38 seconds. The log also records Telefrag’s own rocket death at 471, so the arena was not completely incident-free. It was nevertheless the longest gap between the relevant kills. Then at 552 seconds mike1234 used the Stinger to end hemeroid’s five-kill spree. A competitor far from the title race had just stopped the biggest individual scoring run at the most dramatic moment of the contest.
A response before the clock runs out
Jano did not need a long speech to answer. At 558 seconds he eliminated Brokar with the Rocket Launcher to level matters at 21–21. Nine seconds later he eliminated Brokar again and took back the advantage, 22–21. Brokar subsequently disrupted both leading players, hitting hemeroid twice and Jano once in a short interval. But Jano found points elsewhere too: a rocket caught hemeroid at 612 seconds for 24–22, and another caught mike1234 at 618. Soon he had twenty-six points. Brokar’s 31.8-metre rocket kill against Jano at 640 seconds—the longest shot of the match—could not stop his momentum.
At 658 seconds Jano hit hemeroid with the Bio Rifle and led 28–22. He reached twenty-nine by taking down Brokar with a Flak Cannon at 698. hemeroid landed one last notable reply, defeating Jano with a Bio Rifle shot from 31.6 metres at 717 seconds, but there was no second comeback. Exactly at 735 seconds, Jano hit mike1234 with the Bio Rifle from only 1.3 metres and finished the contest 30–23. The last moments were personal, close-range and utterly decisive.

The separation was therefore about more than a spectacular streak. Jano collected nine immediate revenge kills; hemeroid managed eight. Their average lives told another story: 25 seconds for Jano, forty for hemeroid. One kept returning to dangerous exchanges, while the other survived longer on average and built the longest spree. Neither record made its owner invincible. Jano lost the lead, recovered it and then converted the recovery into victory. hemeroid transformed a match that might have looked settled into a contest that will be remembered for its reversal.
