KST breaks Nanoblack with a late surge on Agony3-SE
Zerker struck first and Nanoblack owned the middle, but KST saved his cleanest work for the finish.
DM-Agony3-SE began with no warm-up at all. Twelve seconds in, Zerker dropped KST with the Enforcer for first blood, an opening that gave no hint that KST would eventually win. Zerker and Nanoblack collected the early points while Comboholic kept appearing in close-range exchanges, and KST needed time to find a rhythm. The pace came in waves: brief quiet spells were followed by sudden clusters of frags. Out of that noise, two central stories formed. Nanoblack produced the match's most explosive mid-game run, while KST built a slower, steadier recovery that mattered more once the fraglimit came into view.
Zerker starts fast, Nanoblack loads the pressure
Zerker followed first blood with a strong opening. He had three points by 101 seconds, then completed a Double Kill three seconds later by taking Comboholic with the Shock Rifle. By 135 seconds he was already on six and still ahead of Nanoblack and KST. KST's first score did not arrive until 93 seconds, but Stinger kills gradually pulled him into the chase.
Nanoblack then launched the defining streak of the first half. From 196 seconds onward he chained Enforcer, Bio Rifle and Flak Cannon kills; at 250 and 252 he removed Comboholic and KST, the second frag completing a Double Kill and moving him to nine points. The spree reached seven kills and survived until 312 seconds, when Comboholic finally stopped it with the Flak Cannon. That run turned Nanoblack from contender into the player everyone had to catch.
Nine kills in a minute and a tightening race
The fourth minute was the busiest according to the computed data, producing nine kills. Agony3 briefly looked like rush hour without traffic lights. Zerker, Nanoblack and KST traded quick blows while Flak Cannon, Stinger and Enforcer did most of the work. KST kept closing; at 510 seconds his Rocket Launcher kill on Nanoblack brought him to 13, level with Nanoblack at that moment. Nine seconds later Nanoblack answered on Zerker and moved ahead again.
The match also had one unusual silence. After 447 seconds there were 43 seconds without a kill, the longest pause of the night, until KST broke it at 490 with a 37.5-meter rocket on Comboholic. It was not the official distance record, but it hinted at the stylistic difference developing between the leaders. KST's average kill distance was 14.4 meters; Nanoblack's was 9.9, reflecting a much more close-quarters approach.
Nanoblack reaches twenty, late arrivals disturb the order
At 705 seconds Nanoblack hit KST with a Shock Combo and reached 20 points while KST remained on 15. It looked like the decisive gap. Then Jano, and later hemeroid, became major factors. Jano brought Rocket Launcher kills, Redeemer chaos and several self-inflicted setbacks, but he also began taking points from the leaders. Zerker eventually finished his participation on 18, while Comboholic had already ended on nine.
KST did not panic. He kept collecting controlled Stinger and Enforcer kills and reached 20 at 905 seconds. At 936 he dropped hemeroid with the Enforcer to tie Nanoblack on 21. Three seconds later came the pivot: Nanoblack killed himself with the Redeemer and fell to 20. In a match officially recording only two lead changes, this one carried enormous weight. KST took the top position and never gave it back.
KST creates daylight, hemeroid lands the range record
Once ahead, KST immediately added separation. By 982 seconds he had reached 25 through kills on Jano, Nanoblack and hemeroid. hemeroid still found a spectacular answer: at 1047 seconds he hit KST with the Shock Rifle from 37.7 meters, the longest kill of the match. He added more frags soon after, proving that a late arrival could still reshape the rhythm of the map.
KST answered with two Flak Cannon kills and then, at 1071 seconds, an Enforcer kill on Nanoblack for 28:22. Nanoblack refused to disappear; Stinger, Redeemer and Bio Rifle kills carried him back to 25. The problem was that he also had to stop donating points to mistakes. At 1180 he suffered another suicide, this time with the Flak Cannon, and dropped to 24. Four seconds later KST hit hemeroid with a 34.3-meter rocket and closed the match at 30.
Why it swung: range, stability and fewer self-errors
The numbers describe two very different ways to chase a fraglimit on Agony3. Nanoblack was the more explosive player: a seven-kill spree, a Double Kill and ten immediate revenge kills, the most in the field. But he also recorded three suicides. KST never produced a multikill and his best spree was only four, yet he never lost a point to a suicide and collected 28 items.
The weapons tell the same story. Flak Cannon led the match with 23 kills, but KST relied primarily on the Stinger for 11 and the Enforcer for ten. Nanoblack leaned harder into Flak and close-range Bio Rifle fights, with a 9.9-meter average kill distance. KST operated from farther out, adapted better when the late players changed the map's traffic, and made the finish about safe points rather than spectacular bursts.
Match moments
- Zerker scored first blood on KST with the Enforcer at 12 seconds.
- Nanoblack owned the longest spree: seven kills from 196 to 312 seconds.
- The fourth minute delivered nine kills, the highest one-minute total of the match.
- KST tied Nanoblack on 21 at 936 seconds and took the lead after Nanoblack's suicide three seconds later.
- hemeroid recorded the longest kill, hitting KST with the Shock Rifle from 37.7 meters.
- KST ended the match at 1184 seconds with a Rocket Launcher kill on hemeroid for a 30:24 win.
The ending matched the shape of the final phase: KST protected his advantage without adding unnecessary risk and pushed it all the way to the fraglimit. Nanoblack produced the night's biggest individual burst with his seven-kill spree, but three suicides removed exactly the kind of points a close finish punishes. KST survived 30 deaths without a single self-penalty, handled the extra traffic created by Jano and hemeroid, and sealed 30:24 with one last rocket. Agony3 therefore rewarded the player who was not the loudest starter, but the most reliable closer.
