biggest overkill: hemeroid (106 dmg) · airborne kills: 46 · gutsiest kill: hemeroid (1 HP)
Match verdict: The deciding factor was Jano's ability to build a mid-match cushion and then survive hemeroid's late comeback long enough to win the final two exchanges. hemeroid flipped the score to 29-28 at 869 seconds, but Jano scored two rocket kills in eight seconds and won 30-29.

Jano Steals Lost in Dawn in a Rocket Finish, 30-29
hemeroid launched like a rocket, but Jano saved the last two for the very end.
DM-1on1-Lost-in-dawn_Final hosted a Deathmatch to 30 points, and there was no warm-up period. hemeroid drew first blood at 15 seconds with a Rocket Launcher kill on Jano, then added Rekrut four seconds later. Before the field had settled, he hit KST from 50.1 meters at 33 seconds, the longest kill of the match. The opening belonged to hemeroid, but the game lasted 877 seconds and that first minute was only a prelude to a contest with three lead changes. Jano slowly recovered from the rough start, KST repeatedly interrupted both front-runners, and Rekrut kept appearing in their exchanges whenever the order looked ready to stabilize.
hemeroid explodes out of the blocks
The first phase had a simple signature: Rocket Launcher, hemeroid in front. Three quick kills made it 3-0, but Rekrut stopped him with a rocket at 42 seconds and Jano began climbing back. By 97 seconds Jano had tied hemeroid at 4-4, only for hemeroid to move ahead again one second later by killing KST. At 114 seconds, however, Jano killed hemeroid from 6.5 meters and took sole possession of the lead for the first time, 6-5. The fast start had turned into a chase.
The pace never really dropped. The second minute produced 11 kills, the highest total of any of the fifteen minute segments. KST recorded a Double Kill at 149 seconds by following a kill on Jano with one on Rekrut, and Jano answered with his own Double Kill at 159 seconds against hemeroid. The scores stayed compressed: Jano had taken the lead, yet hemeroid, KST and Rekrut kept taking points from the players ahead of them and refused to let the race become a two-man procession.
Spree, revenge and the rocket-filled middle
Between 263 and 291 seconds, hemeroid produced the longest spree of the match. He killed Jano three times in succession and then Rekrut, stretching the run to four kills. At 291 seconds his own Rocket Launcher caused a suicide, so no opponent was credited with ending the spree. hemeroid also led the immediate-revenge count with 14, ahead of Rekrut on 10, Jano on 8 and KST on 7. When someone killed him, the return receipt often arrived quickly.
Jano still kept the scoreboard edge. At 331 seconds he linked kills on Rekrut and KST into another Double Kill and reached 14 points. KST remained dangerous through survival: his average life lasted 48 seconds, compared with 23 for both Jano and Rekrut and 33 for hemeroid. Enforcer, Flak Cannon and later Bio Rifle appeared during the middle stretch, but rockets remained the language of the arena. Of 106 non-suicide kills, 86 came from the Rocket Launcher.
Jano builds a cushion, then burns holes in it
After 400 seconds Jano began to look like a player with the match under control. He killed KST at 505 seconds and Rekrut three seconds later for another Double Kill, moving to 21. More kills on Rekrut, KST and Rekrut again carried him to 24 by 567 seconds. Rockets, however, punish their owner too. Jano blew himself up at 576 seconds, then added more suicides at 631 and 690. He finished with four in total, which explains the unusual gap between 34 kills and a final score of 30.
Even with those losses, Jano stayed first. At 647 seconds he completed a Double Kill on hemeroid and led 26-20. KST then stopped his momentum twice in a row, and the match briefly went quiet: after the event at 605 seconds came the longest pause, 39 seconds without a kill. In the final third hemeroid started cutting into the deficit again, while Rekrut stirred the order with the Enforcer and KST punished Jano with rockets. Jano's average kill distance was only 9.7 meters, the shortest of the field, so much of his advantage was built in immediate, high-risk exchanges.
The final seventeen seconds: 27, 28, 29, done
With less than a minute left, Jano had 28 points and hemeroid 26. At 860 seconds hemeroid killed KST, then three seconds later hit Jano from 30.8 meters and tied the game 28-28 with a Double Kill. At 869 seconds he added Rekrut from 32.6 meters and, after many minutes behind, moved into first place at 29-28. It was the second of the three lead changes and the moment Jano stood one point from defeat.
The answer came immediately. At 874 seconds Jano found hemeroid from 7.3 meters and made it 29-29. Three seconds remained. The final victim was not hemeroid but KST: at 877 seconds Jano hit him with the Rocket Launcher from 8.8 meters, the kill counted as a Double Kill, and the score jumped to 30-29. The third lead change was also the final movement on the board. Jano won a match in which he had more deaths than kills, four suicides, and still landed two straight shots when the entire result depended on them.

Lost in Dawn never received a calm ending; it got a small rocket-powered trial instead. hemeroid had the better kill-death balance, the longest spree, the most revenge kills and the longest shot, but Jano took the statistic that mattered most: the final two kills and 30 points. KST finished third on 22 without a single suicide, while Rekrut took fourth on 16 and kept interfering with the title fight late. A one-point gap after 877 seconds was the right ending for a match that waited until the very last rocket to choose a winner.
