Vulgarus rules DM-Deck with a fourteen-kill streak

Hlavicka struck first and Uskok fought at close range, but Vulgarus turned the middle game into a private shooting range.

DM-Deck opened its gates for ten minutes and five seconds, yet calm survived in its corridors for only eighteen seconds. Hlavicka then dropped Vulgarus with the Flak Cannon, claiming the authoritative first blood and the first lead. The winner’s story did not begin with panic, however, but with an immediate reply: at 29 seconds Vulgarus equalized with the same weapon. Uskok joined the argument by hitting Vulgarus with the Shock Rifle at 49 seconds, and the opening became a three-way fight for every metre. The table still looked open, the slime was already waiting for its first victim, and nobody knew the lead would change only once all match.

Hlavicka lands first, Vulgarus makes the only turn

Vulgarus moved ahead at 89 seconds, when the Sniper Rifle sent Hlavicka to respawn and made it 2:1. It was the only genuine lead change. One second later Uskok dissolved in slime and fell back to zero, but he returned in a thoroughly unpleasant mood: he eliminated Hlavicka with the Link Gun and then killed Vulgarus twice in a row. On the hit at 124 seconds he had one health point left, less a duel than an escape from death’s accounts department.

Vulgarus kept the advantage, but Hlavicka and Uskok tested it constantly. Hlavicka connected with the Enforcer, Flak Cannon and Redeemer, while Uskok added the Rocket Launcher. Between 168 and 214 seconds, however, Vulgarus answered with the Shock Rifle, a Shock Combo and even used slime against Hlavicka. Hlavicka recorded a Double Kill at 194 and 197 seconds—first Uskok with the Redeemer, then Vulgarus with a long-range slime hit. The 8:6 score after 234 seconds still promised a contest, not a guided tour.

Hlavicka closes in, then silence falls

At 254 seconds Hlavicka used the Flak Cannon at close range to cut the score to 8:7. It was his best moment in the battle for first place: Vulgarus led by one and DM-Deck suddenly felt tighter than its narrowest corridor. Instead of an equalizer came two accurate Stinger kills by Vulgarus on Uskok at 270 and 284 seconds. The first opened a run that would become the main story of the evening.

After the hit at 284 seconds came the match’s longest quiet spell—48 seconds without a kill. Then the switch flipped. From 332 seconds Vulgarus hit Hlavicka with a Shock Combo, Uskok with another, Hlavicka again, then Uskok with the Rocket Launcher, Shock Rifle and Sniper Rifle. His score climbed from 10 to 16 while the chasers stood still. This was more than shooting form; it was control of rhythm, with every opened corridor ending in another point for the leader.

Fourteen kills without dying and nine in a minute

Roznetka entered the action at 437 seconds with a Flak Cannon kill on Uskok, but two seconds later Hlavicka struck her with the Redeemer from 65.6 metres. It was the longest kill of the match and also showed why Hlavicka average kill distance, 21.2 metres, led everyone. Vulgarus immediately added the match’s only headshot, using the Sniper Rifle on Roznetka from 7.8 metres, then continued with the Shock Combo and Shock Rifle.

The ninth minute delivered a record nine kills. Vulgarus produced two Double Kill sequences: Roznetka and Uskok at 461 and 463 seconds, then Hlavicka and Roznetka at 477 and 480. When he removed Uskok with the Flak Cannon at 492, his run had reached fourteen kills since 270 seconds. Roznetka finally ended it with the Link Gun at 496. Until then Vulgarus had averaged 46 seconds per life, longest in the field, and had recorded ten immediate revenge kills—double Hlavicka five. The other average lives were Hlavicka 37 seconds, Uskok 31, Kegger 27 and Roznetka 18; Uskok and Roznetka recorded two revenge kills each. Average kill distance ranked Hlavicka 21.2 m, Kegger 16.3 m, Uskok 13.6 m, Vulgarus 12.5 m and Roznetka 9.5 m.

No brakes in the finish, a rocket for thirty

The pace did not fall after the streak ended. Hlavicka dropped Kegger twice, while Vulgarus kept scoring against Roznetka, Hlavicka and the rest. At 529 seconds Kegger used the Stinger for his only kill, and it came against the leader, briefly stealing the closing headline. Five seconds later Hlavicka returned him with the same weapon, then punished himself once more with a slime suicide, his second of the match.

From 545 seconds Vulgarus collected points through slime, Shock Rifle, Flak Cannon, Rocket Launcher and Stinger. Roznetka still caught him with the Sniper Rifle at 568, and in the same phase Uskok blasted Hlavicka with the Redeemer, but the explosion also took Uskok and removed the point. Vulgarus had the final word: at 595 seconds the Stinger took Roznetka for point 29, and at 604 the Rocket Launcher finished Hlavicka. He had seven health left and exactly thirty points on the board.

The final 30:9:5:3:1 score looks decisive, but the first four minutes promised nothing of the sort. Hlavicka opened the match, Uskok stayed involved with the Link Gun, and only one point separated the top two after 254 seconds. Vulgarus then fused Shock Rifle control, precise Shock Combos, long survival and immediate revenge into a fourteen-kill avalanche. Roznetka stopped it and Kegger surprised the leader once, but the direction was already irreversible. DM-Deck found a winner who did not need many lead changes—one was enough, and then he only accelerated.
