MVP goes to Zerker for the win, 17 revenge kills and the five-kill finish. Doom2238 gets the long-range prize for a 48.5 m rocket, Ohnostroj gets first blood and the only headshot, and the scoreline itself wins the award for refusing to settle down through six lead changes.

Zerker breaks Devastation with a five-kill final run

DM-1on1-Devastation produced a match that refused to belong to one player for a long time. Ohnostroj opened the scoring after 17 seconds, dropping Doom2238 with the Sniper Rifle for first blood, but the opening quickly became a three-way chase. Doom2238 moved ahead 2:1:1 at 0:50 and looked the most settled player in the first few minutes, while Zerker patiently collected short, brutal engagements with the Flak Cannon. The lead changed six times and the gaps stayed small for most of the game. Only the finish revealed who still had another gear: Zerker closed the match with five straight kills and landed exactly on the 30-point goal.

First shot, first warning

Ohnostroj claimed the official first blood at 0:17, using the Sniper Rifle to send Doom2238 to the first respawn. Sixteen seconds later Doom2238 answered with a Rocket Launcher kill from 48.5 metres, the longest kill of the entire match, and the 1:1 score already suggested that Devastation would not hand out comfortable leads. Zerker joined in at 0:41 with a Flak Cannon kill from just 0.8 metres, a method that would later become his signature.

Doom2238 then accelerated. He scored at 0:50, 1:21, 1:53 and 2:17 with different weapons and held the top spot. Zerker responded at 2:52 and 2:55 with two kills in three seconds; the second, a Flak Cannon hit on Ohnostroj, produced a Double Kill and tied Doom2238 on five. Nine seconds later another flak kill pushed Zerker alone into a 6:5 lead. The match still behaved like a spring-loaded door: every advantage seemed to snap back toward the player who had just lost it.

The sixth minute has no brakes

Doom2238 still returned to the lead more than once. He was ahead 7:6 at 3:31 and reached 11 points with a Shock Combo at 5:18, one in front of Zerker. The reply was immediate: Zerker tied him two seconds later with the Sniper Rifle and moved ahead 12:11 after another flak kill at 5:35. The sixth minute became the busiest of the match with eight kills. The first six minutes ran 4, 3, 6, 5, 7 and 8 kills; the seventh dropped to two. Zerker climbed as high as 14 while Ohnostroj closed ground and, at 6:07, recorded the only headshot of the game against Zerker.

After that avalanche came the longest quiet spell. Following the kill by Ohnostroj at 6:22, the log stayed empty for 41 seconds. When the action resumed, Zerker never surrendered the lead again. At 7:22 he used the Link Gun to make it 15:11:11, and although Doom2238 cut the gap with two Shock Combo kills, he did not erase it. The distances tell an interesting tactical story: Zerker averaged just 10.1 metres per kill, Ohnostroj 11.3 and Doom2238 15.3, so the eventual winner built his advantage mainly in closer fights.

Flak, revenge and the fight for second

The middle phase became a contest over who could slow Zerker most effectively. Ohnostroj rotated between the Stinger, Sniper Rifle and Flak Cannon, while Doom2238 leaned on Shock Combo and the Rocket Launcher. Across the whole match, the Flak Cannon was the deadliest weapon with 21 kills; Zerker supplied 11 of those and Ohnostroj seven. At 8:46 and 8:49, Zerker eliminated Doom2238 and then Ohnostroj, earning his second Double Kill and moving to 18 points.

Revenge kills were almost a separate event. Zerker recorded 17, while Doom2238 and Ohnostroj each had 12. Average life: Ohnostroj 40 s, Zerker 39 s, Doom2238 29 s. That helps explain why pressure rarely turned into a lasting collapse for the leader: when someone killed him, a fast answer often followed. The main direct rivalry was Zerker versus Doom2238. Zerker killed him 16 times and Doom2238 returned 14 kills on Zerker. Even deep into the final third nothing felt fully settled; at 14:20 Zerker had 25, Doom2238 had 22, and Ohnostroj was about to make his late push toward 24.

Five frags, no argument left

Ohnostroj mounted the final serious charge between 14:44 and 14:56. With a Shock Rifle kill and two Flak Cannon kills, he moved from 21 to 24 while Zerker remained on 25. Suddenly the gap was a single point, and Devastation had every ingredient for a last-minute collapse or comeback. Doom2238 sat on 22 and could still disturb the order. Then came the sequence that cut the match open for good.

At 15:03 Zerker killed Doom2238 with the Bio Rifle. Three seconds later he hit Ohnostroj with the Shock Rifle for his third Double Kill of the game. A Link Gun kill on Ohnostroj followed at 15:17, then a Shock Rifle kill on Doom2238 at 15:24, and finally another Bio Rifle kill at 15:39. Five unanswered kills formed the longest spree of the match, and nobody ended it because the last frag simultaneously carried Zerker to the 30-point target. Ohnostroj stayed on 24 and Doom2238 on 22. After six lead changes, the final word was a five-kill exclamation mark.

Match moments
  • Ohnostroj scored first blood on Doom2238 after only 17 seconds.
  • At 0:33 Doom2238 hit Ohnostroj with a Rocket Launcher from 48.5 metres, the longest kill of the match.
  • Zerker recorded three Double Kills at 2:55, 8:49 and 15:06.
  • The sixth minute produced a match-high eight kills.

  • Zerker won the main head-to-head rivalry with Doom2238 by 16 kills to 14.
  • From 15:03 onward, Zerker closed the match with five consecutive kills.

The final 30:24:22 looks more comfortable than the match really was. Doom2238 owned the longest kill, Ohnostroj had first blood, the only headshot and the final serious attack on the leader. Zerker, however, handled the decisive moments best: he took the lead for good at 5:35 and allowed nobody another point after 15:03. With a 39-second average life, 17 revenge kills and a dominant Flak Cannon contribution, his performance showed how a balanced firefight can become a clear result only in the final minute. Devastation was not decided by the first shot, but by the last five.

Player verdicts
  • B Zerker — The winner finished with 30 kills, 11 Flak Cannon frags and the match's longest five-kill spree. He was most effective in close fights and his 17 revenge kills repeatedly erased opponents' momentum.
  • B Ohnostroj — Second place with 24 points, first blood and the only headshot of the match. He closed to within one point late, but the final streak of Zerker stopped the comeback.
  • UA Doom2238 — A strong opening, repeated returns to the lead and the match's longest kill from 48.5 metres. More deaths and a shorter 29-second average life made it harder to sustain his early pace.

    Who killed with what

Each player's kills split by weapon. Reveals every fighter's favorite tool.

The Flak Cannon was the deadliest weapon with 21 kills; Zerker scored 11 of them and Ohnostroj seven. Ohnostroj added the match's only Sniper Rifle headshot, while Doom2238 relied mainly on the Stinger, Rocket Launcher and Shock Combo.

Zerker built his game around short range, where the Flak Cannon and Link Gun turned close contacts into fast points. Doom2238 played more often at medium range with Shock Combo and rockets, an approach that worked early but did not keep Zerker contained. Ohnostroj mixed the Stinger, sniper and flak, then increased aggression late to get within reach of the lead. The key adaptation by Zerker was to keep pressure on after respawns instead of allowing his opponents to rebuild positional control.
