hemeroid catches Bourak and conquers Duality in style
Bourak blasted off the line, but patience and the Bio Rifle carried hemeroid to the summit.
DM-1on1-Duality hosted a 17-minute Normal Deathmatch on October 9, 2026, and calm never made the guest list. Ten competitors appeared, but the scoreboard was more complicated than a simple kill count: every self-inflicted death could erase a precious point, and an early leader could leave the match before the final frag. hemeroid eventually won with 30 points ahead of Jano on 25, even though Jano scored more outright kills. Bourak set a blistering opening pace, hemeroid took time to warm up, and Jano kept firing rockets in pursuit of a late turnaround. That made for a costly, gripping contest.
Nine seconds to first blood: Bourak takes over
At 0:09 Bourak drew first blood with the Link Gun against hemeroid. Strepina fell eight seconds later, followed by Jano at 0:26 and Kegger at 0:27. The last frag, courtesy of the Flak Cannon, earned a Double Kill and made it 4:0. Kegger answered at 0:32, but Bourak kept scoring and reached ten points in just over two minutes. hemeroid did not claim a first kill until 1:20, by which time Bourak already had six.
Bourak mixed Link Gun, Flak Cannon and Rocket Launcher. At 2:48 he had eleven points against four for hemeroid and three for Jano. Jano had already lost a point to his own rocket at 1:37, a mishap that would become a running theme. Bourak was especially dangerous at close quarters: at 3:35 he killed Kegger with the Link Gun from less than one meter. It was a good time to keep away from Bourak's muzzle.
A runaway leader hits the brakes
At 4:39 and 4:40 Bourak took down hemeroid and Kegger with the Stinger, then killed Jano with the Link Gun at 4:43 to complete a Multi Kill. By the end of minute five the scores stood at Bourak 19, hemeroid six and Jano four. Trajbalajka and Krallbait had yet to make their major contributions. Kegger fought back, including his own Double Kill at 4:23, but lost his personal duel with Bourak by twelve kills to three.
Then the story changed. At 7:05 Bourak reached 24 points, only to kill himself with the Flak Cannon at 7:10, fall to 23 and stop scoring. He played 430 seconds in total and is listed fifth despite 24 kills against just twelve deaths. hemeroid was still on twelve points, yet stayed in the battle. At 7:34 and 7:40 he and Jano exchanged blows, including a same-second trade. The early sprint had suddenly become an endurance contest.
Bio Rifle pressure and a six-kill streak
From minute eight, hemeroid steadily pursued the absent leader. His signature Bio Rifle accounted for fifteen kills, his highest weapon total. Jano leaned on the Rocket Launcher for nineteen kills and the Flak Cannon for thirteen, but repeatedly paid for risky explosions. His 33 kills were reduced to 25 points by eight suicides. He nevertheless logged eleven immediate revenge kills, more than anyone else on the server.
Trajbalajka entered the spotlight with six unanswered kills between 11:13 and 11:53, the match's longest spree. Jano ended it at 11:59 with Slime. hemeroid lacked such a long streak but scored consistently. At 13:05 his Sniper Rifle killed Trajbalajka and matched Bourak's 23 points. Exactly 65 seconds later, at 14:10, he eliminated Jano with the Bio Rifle, moved to 24 and took the lead for good. The match data record only one lead change.
The busiest minute and the last frag
Minute fourteen, from 13:00 to 13:59, produced eleven kills, more than any other minute. Krallbait hit both hemeroid and Jano, and Trajbalajka continued fighting, but the new leader held on. At 14:13 hemeroid claimed a Double Kill against Trajbalajka with the Bio Rifle. At 15:36 he killed Jano to reach 27 while his challenger remained on 23; the difference between raw firepower and stable scoring was showing.
At 16:21 Jano cut the margin to 24:28 with a Flak Cannon kill against hemeroid. Then came the longest silence: 36 seconds without a frag. hemeroid ended the lull at 16:57 against Krallbait with the Bio Rifle. One second later Jano eliminated Trajbalajka to reach 25. Krallbait still managed to kill hemeroid at 17:16, but the final word went to the winner. At 17:24 hemeroid brought down Jano with the Link Gun, ending the match 30:25.
