MVP goes to Vulgarus for the 30:24 win, 33 kills and 12 revenge kills. Jano takes the longest-spree award with five, hemeroid gets first blood and longest shot, while Tanchic earns the honorary badge for stirring up the Flak before leaving.

Katami changes leader as Vulgarus storms to thirty

DM-1on1-Katami opened its Deathmatch without a long feeling-out phase. At 18 seconds, hemeroid launched a Rocket Launcher kill on Tanchic for first blood, while Jano erased a point just three seconds later with his own Rocket Launcher suicide. The opening immediately showed two faces of the match: hemeroid banked clean points, while Jano forced fights but repeatedly risked undoing his work. Vulgarus started more quietly, entered the scoreboard with a Shock Combo against hemeroid, and gradually widened his weapon mix. On compact Katami there was little room to hide; every respawn could become an instant revenge opportunity, and the score moved almost continuously.

hemeroid owns the start, Vulgarus measures the range

The first minutes belonged to hemeroid. Bio Rifle kills on Jano and Vulgarus helped him reach six points by 140 seconds, with Vulgarus on four and Jano on three. Tanchic got on the board with a Flak Cannon kill on hemeroid and a Sniper Rifle kill on Vulgarus, but his average life lasted only 13 seconds, so he was usually thrown back into the action before he could settle.

Vulgarus, meanwhile, mixed Shock Combo, Rocket Launcher, Link Gun and Flak Cannon. That variety kept him from being trapped in one kind of duel. hemeroid still held the lead and at 54 seconds hit Vulgarus with a Bio Rifle from 37.3 metres, the longest kill of the entire match, but Vulgarus stayed within reach. In the opening five minutes, the pace repeatedly climbed to eight kills per minute; the busiest was minute three with eight. Katami was less a chessboard than a chessboard being pelted with rockets.

The only lead change and the first escape

The decisive scoreboard turn came around the fifth minute. hemeroid had ten points at 272 seconds, with Vulgarus on eight. Fifteen seconds later Vulgarus had tied at ten, and at 297 seconds he killed hemeroid with the Flak Cannon to make it 11:10. That was the only lead change of the match. From then on the top spot never changed hands, although the margin was far from safe.

Vulgarus then added points with the Link Gun, Shock Combo, Flak Cannon and Sniper Rifle, and by 418 seconds he led hemeroid 17:12. Jano was on nine and still paying for self-inflicted explosions; he finished with five suicides. After Vulgarus's second sniper kill on hemeroid came the quietest stretch of the night, 42 seconds without a kill. When play restarted at 460 seconds, it was not rest but the silence before another burst of chaos.

hemeroid returns, Jano enters rocket mode

After the pause, hemeroid tried to cut the deficit. Between 466 and 479 seconds he killed Tanchic, Jano and Vulgarus, moving to 15 against Vulgarus's 17. Vulgarus answered with the Link Gun and two Rocket Launcher kills on Jano to reach 20 by 535 seconds. Six seconds later, however, hemeroid hit Vulgarus and then Jano in the same second; the Double Kill lifted him to 17.

The strongest personal run belonged to Jano. From 613 to 649 seconds he scored five straight kills with the Rocket Launcher: hemeroid, Vulgarus, Vulgarus, hemeroid, then Vulgarus again. He climbed from 14 to 18 and suddenly sat on the leaders' shoulders. hemeroid ended the five-kill spree at 650 seconds with the Shock Rifle. Nine seconds later he answered Vulgarus's sniper kill immediately with the Bio Rifle and tied him at 20:20. The match officially had only one lead change, but the pressure at the top could have been cut with a Flak Cannon.

Vulgarus closes Katami

From 20:20, the player with the deeper reserve emerged. Vulgarus killed Jano with a Shock Combo, hemeroid answered on Jano with the Bio Rifle, and Vulgarus then found hemeroid with the Flak Cannon before taking Jano twice with the Sniper Rifle. By the Shock Rifle kill on hemeroid at 754 seconds, Vulgarus had 25. hemeroid cut it to 23:25 with two kills on Vulgarus, but Jano stopped that run with a rocket and Vulgarus then took over the closing sequence.

From 796 seconds onward, Vulgarus claimed four of the final five kills: Jano with the Flak Cannon, Jano with a Shock Combo, hemeroid with another Shock Combo, and Jano with the Sniper Rifle. At 847 seconds hemeroid still hit Vulgarus with a rocket to leave him on 29, but the response was almost immediate. Vulgarus killed hemeroid with the Flak Cannon and closed the match 30:24. He finished with 33 kills, three suicides and 12 revenge kills, the most in the field. The finish was not one miracle shot; it was sustained scoring with fewer self-inflicted losses than his pursuers.

Match moments
  • hemeroid took first blood at 18 seconds with a Rocket Launcher kill on Tanchic.
  • At 297 seconds Vulgarus killed hemeroid with the Flak Cannon and took the only lead change at 11:10.
  • The longest kill was hemeroid's 37.3-metre Bio Rifle shot on Vulgarus at 54 seconds.
  • After the kill at 418 seconds came the match's longest pause, 42 seconds without another kill.
  • hemeroid recorded a Double Kill on Vulgarus and Jano at 541 seconds.
  • Jano built a five-kill spree from 613 to 649 seconds before hemeroid stopped it.
  • Vulgarus took four of the final five kills and finished with a Flak kill for 30:24.

Katami ended with a scoreline calmer than the match itself. Vulgarus won 30:24, hemeroid finished second, Jano third on 20, and Tanchic stayed on four after leaving early. The decisive gap appeared after the 20:20 tie, when Vulgarus shifted from protecting a lead to finishing the job. hemeroid owned the opening and the longest-distance kill, Jano owned the longest spree, but the winner combined a broader weapon set, the most revenge kills and the longest average life at 36 seconds. The last exchange at 847 seconds was a fitting full stop: hemeroid struck, Vulgarus answered, and the table closed.

Player verdicts
  • LV Vulgarus — The most complete performance: 33 kills, a wide arsenal and the best average life at 36 seconds. Three suicides slowed him, but once he took the lead he never surrendered it.
  • FR hemeroid — A strong start, first blood and ten Bio Rifle kills made him the main challenger. He cut the gap late, but after 20:20 he could not match Vulgarus's scoring pace.
  • SK Jano — The most explosive performance in both senses: 19 rocket kills and the longest five-kill spree, but also five suicides. Those five lost points seriously damaged his chance to fight for the win.
  • BY Tanchic — A short and difficult match: four kills, 30 deaths and an exit after 409 seconds of play. His best moments came early with a Flak kill on hemeroid and a sniper kill on Vulgarus.

    Who killed with what

Each player's kills split by weapon. Reveals every fighter's favorite tool.

The Rocket Launcher was the deadliest weapon with 31 kills, and Jano earned 19 of his kills with it. Vulgarus had the widest successful mix, including nine Flak Cannon kills and six Sniper Rifle kills; hemeroid collected ten with the Bio Rifle. There were no headshots.

Vulgarus did not bind himself to one weapon: he used the Flak Cannon up close, Shock Combo and Link Gun at mid-range, and leaned effectively on the Sniper Rifle in the second half. hemeroid built much of his game around the Bio Rifle and could punish from unusually long range, but Vulgarus had more answers as engagement distances changed. Jano applied aggressive Rocket Launcher pressure, and his spree showed the plan could work, yet five suicides were the price of fighting too close with rockets. On compact Katami, adaptability and surviving the next contact after a kill mattered most.
