hemeroid Survives Seven Lead Changes on DM-1on1-Pure
Seven lead changes, rockets around every corner, and a finish where hemeroid found the longest spree of the match.
DM-1on1-Pure behaved like a tiny arena with oversized chaos. hemeroid, Jano, Sundavac and Ungodlike played 963 seconds of straight Deathmatch to thirty points, and the scoreboard refused to belong to one player: the lead changed seven times. First blood went to Sundavac, who hit hemeroid with the Sniper Rifle after just 18 seconds. From there the match turned into a rotating exchange of rockets, Link Gun fire, Flak Cannon blasts and Bio Rifle pressure. The decisive detail was that hemeroid stayed close to Jano through the middle phase and then produced a six-kill spree late in the match, carrying that momentum all the way to a 30:24 win.
Sundavac opens the scoring, Jano answers immediately
The first clean hit arrived at 18 seconds. Sundavac found hemeroid with the Sniper Rifle and opened the scoring, but the calm lasted exactly two seconds: Jano dropped Sundavac with the Flak Cannon and added Ungodlike with a rocket at 30 seconds. hemeroid entered the board at 40 seconds by taking out Jano with the Rocket Launcher. The opening was so tight that every mistake changed the order immediately; after killing Sundavac at 50 seconds, hemeroid also blew himself up with a rocket at the same timestamp, practically taxing his own success on the spot.
Sundavac stayed near the top early, mainly through the Link Gun, and reached four points after kills on Ungodlike and Jano. Jano had short spells in front, but at 144 seconds he also lost a point to a Rocket Launcher suicide. That gave hemeroid room to move: between 152 and 173 seconds he killed Jano three times and then used the Sniper Rifle on Ungodlike. Suddenly he was on five points, and what had started as a chase had become an open fight for first place.
hemeroid and Jano turn Pure into rocket ping-pong
The clearest rivalry quickly formed between hemeroid and Jano. They killed each other 28 times in total, with hemeroid taking that private duel 17:11. The symbol of their exchange came at 175 seconds, when Jano hit hemeroid with a Rocket Launcher from 51.2 metres. It was the longest kill of the match and an extraordinary distance for a rocket engagement. Eight seconds later Jano tied hemeroid at 5:5, but hemeroid answered with the Stinger and soon rebuilt a small margin.
At 238 and 239 seconds, hemeroid killed Ungodlike and Jano in rapid succession for a Double Kill. Soon afterward Jano strung together three rocket kills to reach nine points, but hemeroid slowed that push with two more kills on Jano. Sundavac kept interfering as well: at 328 and 332 seconds he eliminated hemeroid and Jano for his own Double Kill. When Jano tied hemeroid at 12:12 at 361 seconds and moved to 13 by killing Sundavac five seconds later, it was obvious the scoreboard would not settle down anytime soon.
The middle phase brings lead swaps and the busiest minute
Around the seventh minute the pace hit its peak. The precomputed data records nine kills in the busiest minute, and during that stretch the score moved after almost every encounter. hemeroid took his 14th point with a rocket on Jano at 400 seconds, but Jano then pushed through Ungodlike, hemeroid and Sundavac to reach 18; the kill on Sundavac at 457 seconds completed a Double Kill. At that point Jano had the clearest initiative, with the Rocket Launcher acting as his unmistakable signature.
hemeroid did not fold. He killed Jano with the Stinger at 492 seconds, later removed Ungodlike twice with the Bio Rifle, and at 554 seconds hit Jano with a rocket for his 20th point. In between, Ungodlike picked up two sniper kills on Jano and hemeroid at 510 and 514 seconds for a Double Kill, then added the only headshot of the entire match against Jano at 621 seconds. After Sundavac killed Jano at 636 seconds, the match entered its longest pause: 42 seconds without a kill. Sundavac then restarted the pressure and killed Jano and hemeroid at 678 and 680 seconds for another Double Kill.
Six unanswered kills decide the finish
After 695 seconds, hemeroid began assembling the decisive part of the match. A rocket on Jano took him to 21 points, a Bio Rifle kill on Sundavac made it 22, and after the next exchanges he stayed ahead of his nearest rivals. Jano continued to press and hit Ungodlike at 724 seconds, but hemeroid answered with a rocket on Jano at 737. The closing phase also showed how expensive self-inflicted mistakes had been: Jano finished with five suicides and hemeroid with two, and in a close match every deducted point carried real weight.
The deciding spree began at 817 seconds. hemeroid eliminated Jano, Ungodlike twice, Sundavac, Jano again and Sundavac once more. Six consecutive kills took him all the way to 29 points, the longest killing spree of the match. Sundavac finally ended it at 941 seconds with the Sniper Rifle, but hemeroid needed only one more point. Jano removed Sundavac at 942 and Ungodlike killed Jano four seconds later, yet the last word came at 962 seconds: hemeroid hit Jano with the Rocket Launcher from 7.4 metres and closed the Deathmatch at 30:24.
