MVP goes to Gibko for the 30:29 win and the final kill. KST earns the prizes for the five-kill spree, 13 revenge kills and the 105.9-metre shot; nobody gets an award for staying calm after that finish.
Gibko survives KST to win CarbonFire by a single point
CarbonFire held its tension to the final shot: KST tied it at 29:29, but Gibko claimed the last word.
DM-CarbonFire opened with a minus point before anyone could celebrate a clean kill: at 26 seconds KST eliminated himself with a Shock Combo and dropped to -1. The authoritative first blood came at 47 seconds, when Gibko took down KST with the Flak Cannon from twelve metres. From there the match became a shifting contest with four lead changes and almost no comfort at the top. Gibko looked ready to dictate the pace, but Shardfall repeatedly stayed on his shoulder, while KST recovered from the ugly start and became more dangerous as the minutes passed. Presnak supplied his own mixture of Shock Rifle pressure, Flak fights and costly accidents. After more than 26 minutes, the Deathmatch ended as tightly as possible: 30:29.
Early Flak pressure and Shardfall's answer
Gibko did not stop after first blood. At 60 and 78 seconds he removed Shardfall twice with the Flak Cannon and quickly reached three points. Shardfall refused to become scenery: he hit Presnak twice with the Shock Rifle, later killed Gibko with Flak, and after Gibko's Impact Hammer suicide at 201 seconds he pulled level at 4:4. Nine seconds later he dropped Presnak with the Bio Rifle and briefly became the sole leader.
Then came the longest quiet stretch of the match. After Shardfall's kill at 210 seconds, 54 seconds passed without another scoring event. When the action restarted, KST began rebuilding from his disastrous opening, but he was still chasing. Gibko hit KST with the Rocket Launcher at 312 seconds, only for Shardfall to tie him one second later with a Shock Combo. At 337 seconds Shardfall reached six points and took the lead again. CarbonFire had already made one thing clear: there would be no easy runaway winner.
Gibko takes control, KST starts the chase
The balance shifted from 361 seconds onward. Gibko first killed KST with the Link Gun, then ten seconds later used the same weapon on Shardfall, and from 399 seconds he held the lead alone. The Link Gun gradually became his most productive weapon, accounting for ten kills, more than either his Flak Cannon or Rocket Launcher. By the ten-minute mark Gibko had 12 points, Shardfall 9, KST 7 and Presnak 6. It was a lead, but never a comfortable one.
This was also where KST produced the best spree of the match. Between 497 and 596 seconds he collected five kills without dying, using the Bio Rifle and Rocket Launcher before Shardfall finally ended the run with the Enforcer. KST also recorded 13 revenge kills, the highest total in the match. His average kill distance was 18 metres, well above Gibko's 10.2. Average life was 45 seconds for KST, 54 for Shardfall, 42 for Gibko and 40 for Presnak. Those numbers help explain why KST could keep the chase alive.
Double Kills and Gibko's surge to 27
The middle of the match turned into a constant exchange of blows. At 961 seconds KST used the Stinger to kill Shardfall and Presnak in the same instant for a Double Kill. He added another Double Kill at 1064 seconds with the Link Gun, following a kill on Gibko by immediately removing Shardfall. Gibko answered more steadily and reached 21 points at 1033 seconds. Minute 18 was the busiest with ten kills; minutes 7, 9 and 26 produced seven each.
The key surge came between 1115 and 1204 seconds. Gibko killed Presnak with Flak, Shardfall with the Enforcer, Presnak again through a fall, KST with Flak and Presnak once more with Flak. The scoreboard showed 27 for Gibko and 21 for KST. At 1270 and 1273 seconds Gibko added back-to-back Stinger kills, the second producing a Double Kill and pushing him to 29. It looked like the setup for a quick finish. CarbonFire, however, still had a long final twist left.
From 29:23 to 29:29 and the final duel
After Gibko reached 29, the match turned nervous instead of ending. A CampKiller death at 1353 seconds cost him a point and dropped him to 28. He returned to 29 at 1407 seconds by killing KST with the Link Gun, but then his score froze. KST steadily cut the gap: at 1410 seconds he hit Gibko with the Bio Rifle from 44 metres, then added kills on Presnak, Gibko twice more, and Shardfall.
At 1537 seconds came the shot that turned the finish into a one-point duel. KST killed Presnak with the Bio Rifle from 105.9 metres, the longest kill of the match, and tied the score at 29:29. Presnak had taken a point from KST with Flak only two seconds earlier, so even the route to the tie was anything but clean. Shardfall killed Presnak at 1545 seconds, but the title now sat between Gibko and KST. Thirty-one tense seconds followed. At 1576, Gibko found KST at 8.6 metres, the Link Gun connected one final time, and the score stopped at 30:29.

Gibko won a match in which he had to survive more than the opposition. He recorded four suicides, watched Shardfall take the lead during the opening phase, and then saw KST erase the late gap all the way to 29:29. Even so, he handled the final encounter: his tenth Link Gun kill was also his thirtieth point and the full stop on a 1577-second marathon. KST finished one point short of the comeback, Shardfall on 23 and Presnak on 20. CarbonFire got the kind of ending worth remembering, not because one player cruised to victory, but because the winner genuinely had to earn the last point.
