KST conquers Agony2 after a late Shock Combo surge
KST joined the scoring party late, then turned Agony2 into his own grand finale.
For fifteen minutes and twenty-two seconds, DM-Agony2 offered two very different matches in one. First, Prestrelka, Flakos and Kemper fought for the initiative while KST could not register a single kill. Then the action became a spectacular chase built on Shock Rifle timing, well-placed combinations and a relentless finish. Five competitors entered this Normal Deathmatch with a target score of 30. The final standings read KST 30, Flakos 25, Kemper 21, and Prestrelka and Spawnak level on 19. Yet that neat order conceals three changes of leader, a remarkable comeback and a winner who had to climb out of a very deep early deficit. No invented heroics are needed here: the event log supplies the drama on its own.
Five seconds to first blood
Only five seconds had passed when Prestrelka struck Flakos with the Shock Rifle from 3.3 metres for first blood. Flakos returned the favour with a Rocket Launcher at 0:23. Prestrelka fired back with a Link Gun kill at 0:54 and added two Flak Cannon eliminations, although a self-inflicted Shock Rifle death at 2:12 erased one point. Kemper entered the contest with a Stinger kill and Flakos demonstrated a Shock Combo against Spawnak. The scoreboard was lively long before KST had contributed a point.
At 3:45 Spawnak actually killed KST with a Flak Cannon while the eventual champion was still scoreless. Flakos had reached seven points by 4:13, repeatedly catching Spawnak, but his own explosives were also a danger. A Rocket Launcher suicide at 2:48 cost him a point, with further penalties still to come. The game's longest quiet spell began after a kill at 1:57: 43 whole seconds without another elimination. On this map, even silence had a short life expectancy.
Kemper sets the standard, KST finally arrives
Between 2:54 and 5:49 Kemper assembled five consecutive kills, the longest spree of the game. He used a mix of weapons and repeatedly stopped Flakos in his tracks. KST finally put an end to that run with a Bio Rifle hit at 5:49. His first kill had come only at 5:11, also with the Bio Rifle, against Prestrelka; at 5:31 he had added Flakos. Those two early contributions hardly looked like the beginning of a victory parade, but they were the first signs of momentum.
The seventh and eighth minutes grew fierce. Flakos reached ten at 7:15 by eliminating Prestrelka with a Stinger, while Kemper reached ten at 7:32. KST was only on seven. Then he found a rhythm across several weapons: a Shock Combo on Spawnak at 8:33, a Shock Rifle shot on Flakos at 8:35 for a Double Kill, and a Stinger elimination of Kemper at 8:50. Prestrelka interrupted his streak soon afterward, but KST was no longer a distant name at the foot of the score chart.
The electric change of power
Prestrelka was not finished, killing KST with the Shock Rifle at 9:14 and pushing his own score to thirteen a little later. Flakos landed another blow on Prestrelka at 9:23. Then KST produced the spell that changed the shape of the game: Shock Combo on Flakos at 9:58, Shock Rifle on Spawnak at 10:04 and another Shock Combo on Kemper at 10:11. Three kills in thirteen seconds took him from twelve to fifteen. A comeback that had seemed unlikely suddenly became a serious claim to the lead.
Flakos fought back from range, striking KST at 10:35 from 29.9 metres and again at 10:54 from 36.7 metres, both with the Shock Rifle. KST answered Kemper with a Shock Combo at 10:44 and Flakos with a rocket at 11:10. He now had seventeen to Flakos's fifteen. The official match data records three lead changes, and the struggle for first place was being settled by who could sustain the pressure, not simply who could strike first.
No room to breathe at the finish
KST earned his twentieth point at 12:29 with a Stinger kill on Spawnak. Flakos answered with his twentieth at 12:58 and shot KST again ten seconds later. But at 13:26 KST caught Flakos with the Shock Rifle from 36.1 metres, followed with Kemper at 13:39 and landed a Shock Combo on Flakos at 13:46. The scoreline had moved to 25–21. Another Shock Combo on Spawnak at 13:59 extended his control of the contest.
The fifteenth minute was the busiest according to the computed figures, with thirteen kills. Kemper mounted a late Link Gun charge to twenty points. Flakos reached twenty-five with a Double Kill on Spawnak at 14:49. KST, however, removed Flakos with Shock Combos at 14:59 and 15:19, moving to twenty-nine. At 15:22 he used one final Shock Combo to stop Kemper: point thirty, a Double Kill announcement, and the end of the match. The clock and the weapon agreed on the perfect closing line.
