MVP goes to hemeroid for winning 30:27, earning a six-kill streak and landing the longest hit at 32.3 metres. Jano takes first-blood honours and the consolation prize of 30 kills; Axonite led immediate revenge kills with ten. Jano’s three self-inflicted deductions are an award nobody would want.
hemeroid beats Jano: Katami decided in final seconds
Thirty kills cannot secure victory when three points disappear into your own explosions.
On October 14, 2026, DM-1on1-Katami hosted a Deathmatch featuring five names but mainly one fierce battle for first place: hemeroid versus Jano. The target was 30 points, yet the scoreline of 30:27 took 647 seconds and thirteen changes of leader to emerge. Jano recorded 30 kills, exactly as many as the eventual winner, but three suicides deducted three points from his total. Axonite and Aquarius_de were far from spectators, while Gibko made a brief appearance before departing. Every elimination by the supporting contenders could change the leaders’ rhythm. The eventual champion had to earn each point in a contest where the table refused to settle and a single self-inflicted explosion carried a remarkable price.
First rocket, first warning
Jano struck first blood at nine seconds, launching a rocket into Gibko. Axonite immediately replied with a Flak Cannon kill on Jano at ten seconds, then eliminated Aquarius_de with a rocket at twenty. Jano answered against Aquarius_de at 31 seconds. After the longest quiet interval of the match, 23 seconds, hemeroid got on the board with Bio Rifle against Jano at 54 seconds. Jano killed him with a rocket in that same second. Katami offered no comfortable opening minutes.
At 62 seconds, hemeroid killed Axonite with a rocket from 32.3 metres, the longest recorded kill of the match. He followed up against Aquarius_de two seconds later for a Double Kill. Jano still led 5:3 at 80 seconds, but two hemeroid kills at 95 and 98 seconds levelled matters at 5:5. At 112 seconds, hemeroid pushed ahead 6:5. The fight had quickly moved beyond first blood into a battle over each tiny advantage.
A six-kill streak meets resistance
The longest killing spree belonged to hemeroid: six uninterrupted eliminations beginning at 62 seconds, involving Axonite, Aquarius_de and Jano. Rockets were his main instrument, though at 141 seconds he used Bio Rifle to take down Aquarius_de and reach seven points. Jano finally stopped the streak with Flak Cannon at 150 seconds, cutting the score to 7:6. He had proved the leader was vulnerable, but not that he could stay in front.
There were costly mistakes around them. Axonite killed Aquarius_de with Flak Cannon at 149 seconds, then eliminated himself with the same weapon in the same second. Jano suffered a rocket suicide at 165 seconds, even while claiming a Double Kill against Aquarius_de. By 198 seconds the leading score was tied 10:10. hemeroid kept collecting Bio Rifle kills while Jano switched between rockets and flak. The score made a blunt argument: fragging opponents is only half the arithmetic when you can subtract your own points.
Bio, flak and the restless middle
At 224 seconds hemeroid killed Aquarius_de with Bio Rifle to lead 11:10. Fourteen seconds later he used Sniper Rifle on Jano for 12:10, without scoring a headshot; nobody recorded one throughout the match. Aquarius_de fought back in his own way. At 239 and 240 seconds, he eliminated Axonite and then hemeroid for a Double Kill. Another double followed at 278 seconds, before a Flak Cannon suicide at 283 erased a point.
Axonite made life difficult for everyone near the top. At 318 seconds he caught hemeroid with Sniper Rifle and at 338 finished him with Flak Cannon. Aquarius_de used Shock Combo to kill Axonite in that same 338th second. Yet hemeroid continued building his lead, reaching 17 at 366 seconds and 20 at 403, while Jano stood at 14. The seventh minute was the busiest, producing 13 kills. Any attempt to settle into a comfortable pattern soon ran into somebody else's weapon.
Jano finds a second wind
When Jano killed hemeroid with a rocket at 411 seconds, the scores were 15 and 20. He followed with more kills at 421, 428 and 448 seconds, steadily reducing the gap. Axonite was busy too: kills at 449, 455 and 457 seconds, all with Link Gun, capped by a Double Kill. Those attacks supplied fresh targets for the favourites but also threatened to interrupt their momentum.
At 470 seconds Jano brought the contest to 19:20. At 486 he equalised 20:20 with a rocket, then struck Aquarius_de at 489 for a Double Kill and a 21:20 lead. Axonite took Jano out one second later. hemeroid levelled at 21:21 with a rocket into Jano at 508 seconds and moved ahead 22:21 using Flak Cannon at 525. A match with thirteen lead changes could hardly be declared over on the strength of a narrow advantage. The return to level terms was only the start of the final argument.
No safety net in the last ninety seconds
Jano struck hemeroid at 557 seconds to lead 23:22, then killed Aquarius_de at 565 for 24:22. hemeroid answered with Bio Rifle against Axonite at 571 and Flak Cannon against Jano at 575, a Double Kill that made it 24:24. At 593 a rocket into Jano put hemeroid ahead 25:24. Jano countered with consecutive Flak Cannon kills against Axonite and Aquarius_de at 600 and 603, taking a 26:25 lead with another Double Kill.
At 611 seconds hemeroid's rocket levelled the score 26:26. Jano went ahead 27:26 at 622, but hemeroid killed Axonite with Bio Rifle at 631 to equalise. The decisive switch was to Stinger: Jano fell at 638 for 28:27 and Aquarius_de at 640 for 29:27, another Double Kill. Axonite eliminated Jano with Shock Combo at 642, but that did not stop hemeroid. At precisely 647 seconds he delivered the final rocket into Jano. Thirty points, three clear, match over.

Yet the most memorable statistic sits behind that tidy ranking. hemeroid and Jano scored exactly 30 kills each. The champion made no suicidal errors, died only 16 times and survived for an average of 38 seconds per life. Jano died 28 times, averaged 22 seconds per life and lost precisely three points to his own weapons. Rockets supplied much of the soundtrack, while Stinger shaped the dramatic finish. Katami delivered an old lesson with modern urgency: eliminating the enemy helps most when you avoid eliminating yourself.
