Match history — match detail
biggest overkill: Presnak (132 dmg) · airborne kills: 42 · gutsiest kill: Jano (2 HP)
Match verdict: hemeroid won 30–28 because his ten-kill streak beginning at 5:40 erased Rozparovac’s early edge and set up the final duel. Jano matched him on 33 kills and actually had more Rocket Launcher kills, but his five suicides versus three explain the two-point scoring gap. The self-inflicted death after the 29–29 tie was the immediate deciding error.

hemeroid Wins Rocket Thriller on Devastation, 30–28
Rozparovac struck first, Jano brought the rockets, but hemeroid had the final word.
DM-1on1-Devastation hosted a four-way Normal Deathmatch on October 27, 2026, with the score limit set to 30. hemeroid, Jano, Rozparovac and Presnak produced 17 minutes and 44 seconds of frantic competition, including five changes of the lead. The surprising part of the final score was not who killed more opponents: the top two players each recorded exactly 33 kills. The difference emerged elsewhere, in the rather awkward business of surviving your own explosives. By the time the final rocket landed, a two-point gap separated players whose attacking totals were identical.
Stinger starts the fire; rockets answer
First blood belonged to Rozparovac at 0:20, when his Stinger killed Jano. One second later the same weapon struck hemeroid, completing a Double Kill before anyone had settled into a rhythm. hemeroid answered with Rocket Launcher kills against Jano at 0:33 and Rozparovac at 0:40, drawing level at 2–2. Presnak, meanwhile, had already taken a negative score from CampKiller at 0:28.
Rozparovac kept attacking with the Flak Cannon, Link Gun and rockets. At 1:53 he reached six points and recorded another Double Kill, while hemeroid had four and Jano was on minus one following a self-inflicted rocket death. At 2:51 Presnak registered the only headshot of the entire match, catching Jano with the Sniper Rifle from just 10.2 metres.
Chasing the early leader
At 4:38 Rozparovac landed two Link Gun kills in the same second, eliminating Presnak and hemeroid to reach nine points. Jano was recovering from his early negative score, systematically narrowing the gap with the Rocket Launcher; a Double Kill on Rozparovac brought him to seven at 5:08. At 5:13 hemeroid also reached seven by killing Jano with the Bio Rifle. Rozparovac still stood ahead, and at 5:29 he sniped hemeroid from 49 metres, the longest recorded kill of the match and just short of the 50-metre mark.
Then the story changed. According to the computed statistics, hemeroid began a ten-kill spree at 5:40 that lasted until 10:21; no opposing player is named as its terminator. His Bio Rifle Double Kill on Jano and Rozparovac at 6:55 brought his score to 11, level with the former leader. At 7:07 he climbed to 12 while Rozparovac remained at 11.
Three contenders within reach
Rozparovac fought back to 15 at 8:24, finishing a quick two-kill sequence with a Shock Rifle hit on Jano. Jano had 13 and hemeroid 12 at that instant. Jano reached 15 at 8:58, making the battle for first place a three-player puzzle. The next recorded kill came only at 9:31: a 33-second pause, the longest of the game.
hemeroid reached 16 at 9:53 and 17 at 10:32, taking out Rozparovac along the way, although his own rocket explosion at 10:21 also counted against him. Jano repeatedly damaged his score with his own Rocket Launcher, notably at 10:38. Presnak interrupted the favourites with a Stinger Double Kill against hemeroid and Jano at 10:53 and 10:54. At 11:04 hemeroid struck Jano twice with the Flak Cannon to move to 19, while Jano remained on 15. Average kill distances were 14.3 m for hemeroid, 8 m for Jano, 9.5 m for Rozparovac and 10.8 m for Presnak. Their average lives lasted 50, 26, 44 and 28 seconds respectively.
Nine kills in a minute, one fatal misstep
From the twelfth minute onward hemeroid generally held the advantage, though Jano refused to disappear. At 14:05 Jano cut the gap to 23–22 with a rocket; hemeroid responded with a Bio Rifle kill for 24–22 and a rocket at 14:39 for 25–23. The sixteenth minute, from 15:00 to 15:59, was the busiest of the match with nine kills. hemeroid advanced to 26, 27 and 28 by eliminating Jano, Presnak and Rozparovac; Jano reached 25 in the same period.
At 16:35 Jano rocketed Rozparovac to reach 28, level with hemeroid at that moment. Presnak eliminated Rozparovac with a Shock Rifle at 16:50, then hemeroid hit Presnak to go to 29 at 16:56. Jano matched that score at 17:09 with another rocket kill on Presnak. But at 17:31 Jano blew himself up with the Rocket Launcher, slipping back to 28. Just twelve seconds later, at 17:43, hemeroid killed Presnak with a rocket of his own: 30–28 and game over. Rocket-powered irony is still irony.

The final standings read hemeroid 30, Jano 28, Rozparovac 23 and Presnak 16. The top two both finished with 33 kills, but hemeroid had three suicides and Jano five. Rozparovac remained a threat well beyond his explosive start, while Presnak’s unique headshot and timely interventions made fourth place anything but anonymous. This match continually challenged the apparent pecking order, from the first Stinger hit to the last rocket. The decisive difference was not the number of opponents dispatched. It was the number of points still standing after each player had settled the bill for his own mistakes.
