Spawnfrag steals a last-second win on DM-RisingSun
Twenty-three minutes of changing fortunes, and six seconds to settle everything.
On August 11, 2026, DM-RisingSun hosted a Normal Deathmatch that refused to be a straightforward race to thirty. Spawnfrag, trajbalajko and Jano fought across 1,429 seconds; Flakos made a brief seven-second appearance. The final table reads Spawnfrag 30, trajbalajko 29, Jano 22 and Flakos minus one. Those numbers barely hint at the drama: four changes of leader, an eight-kill spree, three Double Kills and an extraordinary reversal just before the timer ran out. Above all, the eventual winner needed every last one of his opportunities. With trajbalajko on 29 points and seemingly one elimination from victory, the match still had a final chapter to write.
First blood and an immediate rocket reply
Spawnfrag opened the scoring after just 14 seconds, hitting trajbalajko with the Flak Cannon for the official first blood. Four seconds later, Jano fell too. But trajbalajko answered with Rocket Launcher eliminations at 20 and 26 seconds, leveling at 2–2. Jano added two rocket kills against Spawnfrag at 67 and 93 seconds, only to lose a point to his own rocket at 100. There was no safe opening lead here, just a series of rapid counters.
At 189 seconds Spawnfrag registered the first Double Kill and reached five points. By 236 seconds he led trajbalajko 7–2 while Jano had four. Rockets and close-range Flak Cannon blasts shaped the exchanges. The computed statistics record a 64-second interval between regular kills after the hit at 286 seconds. The arena was not completely quiet, though: Jano suffered another self-inflicted rocket death at 314 seconds.
Bio Rifle pulls the challengers back
From 350 seconds onward, trajbalajko started collecting points with Bio Rifle eliminations against Jano. Spawnfrag held the advantage for a while and produced his second Double Kill at 581 seconds, this time with the Stinger following a rocket kill. Jano kept fighting the leader; at 540 seconds he had matched Spawnfrag at ten points. But repeated self-inflicted rocket damage had already undermined his total, and the dangerous fights were far from finished.
Minute eleven was the first of the busiest periods according to the summary: six regular kills within one minute. At 634 seconds Jano tied Spawnfrag 12–12; one second later trajbalajko eliminated him with the Bio Rifle. The lead kept narrowing and widening. At 720 seconds Spawnfrag and trajbalajko were level on fourteen points, while Jano had slipped to eleven after another suicide. Two strong candidates had emerged, but the race was still wide open.
Eight unanswered kills change the order
The best uninterrupted run belonged to trajbalajko: eight kills from 619 to 789 seconds without dying. At 746 seconds he drew level at 15–15, then passed Spawnfrag 16–15 at 781. The streak ended at 789 seconds when Jano hit him with the Rocket Launcher. The player who had been on the receiving end of several Bio Rifle attacks delivered the crucial interruption himself.
Spawnfrag briefly fought back, but suicides at 921 and 965 seconds deducted two valuable points. At 944 seconds trajbalajko held a 19–17 advantage; by 1013 it was 21–17. His effectiveness also showed up in survival and resource collection: an average life of 89 seconds, against 32 for Spawnfrag and 37 for Jano, and 22 collected items. The four-point lead looked useful, but the margin was not yet decisive.
From 29–26 to 29–30 in the final seconds
Spawnfrag stayed active through the second half and completed his third Double Kill at 1196 seconds using the Link Gun. Trajbalajko kept moving toward the target: 26–24 at 1229 seconds, then 29–26 after a Bio Rifle elimination at 1319. One more frag would have finished the match. Jano killed Spawnfrag with a rocket at 1326, but that did not change trajbalajko’s score. The next encounter could have ended everything.
Instead, Spawnfrag struck trajbalajko at 1359 seconds with the Shock Rifle from 39.6 meters—the longest recorded kill of the match. He hit the same opponent again at 1406 seconds with the same weapon, surviving that encounter with just five health points. Jano eliminated him at 1413, but at 1422 Spawnfrag used the Link Gun to equalize at 29–29. With six seconds left, a Flak Cannon blast caught Jano from 8.2 meters at 1428 seconds. Spawnfrag finished on 30 points and just one health point remaining.

Jano led everyone in damage dealt with 6,788 and recorded 15 assists, although five suicides held his score back. Spawnfrag died 43 times and even lost two points to his own mistakes, yet finished the only race that mattered. DM-RisingSun was not won through flawless defense. It was won by converting four late opportunities when the rival in front needed just one. After 23 minutes and 49 seconds, the difference was a single frag.
